SOCIAL OUTREACH
“For I was hungry and you fed me, thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you visited me, naked and you clothed me… ”
Matthew 25:35-36
Our mission is to serve as Jesus served.
We work both inside and outside the church to help others. As a committee, we seek out opportunities at nursing homes, schools, municipalities, and individuals to whom we can be of service. Working with a variety of organizations we also seek to serve the hungry, the homeless, at-risk youth, the sick, prisoners and all in need.
Social Ministry is more than charity – it is working together toward a common goal, advocating for justice, and serving as Jesus teaches us to do.
Some of the ongoing Social Ministry Activities:
- Appalachian Hospitality Ministry
- Prayer Chain Ministry
- Prayer Shawl Ministry
- World Hunger Collection
- Baby Bibles for Baptisms
- Outreach to Older Members of the Congregation
- Food'n'Friends
- Foxboro, Franklin and Easton Food Pantry Collection
We are all called to love and serve our neighbor. If serving on this ministry team, appeals to you, you are invited to join us at our meetings. Meeting dates and times can be found on our monthly Newsletter and Calendar. If you need assistance or know of a person or organization that does, please contact the church office at [email protected].
