Beyond Sunday Mornings
LCOR offers additional opportunities to deepen one’s relationship with God and one another through group studies that occur beyond the Sunday morning education hour.
During the season of Lent we offer some type of learning or worship opportunity—usually Wednesday evenings. Over the years these sessions have included Bible studies, faith story sharing and short worship services. The year’s program is announced shortly before Lent begins.
Members of our Outreach ministry (will link to that area/page) periodically offer The Alpha Course—an introduction/overview of the basics of Christianity. Each session of the Alpha Course begins with a light meal, a video on one essential aspect of Christianity, and finishes with a discussion of that aspect. Members are encouraged to invite folks they know who might be questioning or looking into matters of faith–and Christianity in particular.
Newcomers Information Class
Pastor also periodically offers an Information Class for new or prospective members would like to learn more of Lutheran history and teachings.
Women’s Bible Study
Occasionally there have been Women’s Bible studies facilitated by lay leaders as well.
Vacation Bible School
During the summer we also offer Vacation Bible School for children—and information about the sessions, including registration is announced well in advance of the programs start.
